Challenge period
How the league works
A fair, competitive ladder designed to get players facing new opponents and recording competitive matches on Playtomic.
Issue a challenge
Challenge a pair up to three places above you. One active challenge per team at a time.
Agree a time
The challenged pair responds within 24 hours. Both teams make a genuine effort and offer at least two times.
Play by Sunday
The challenging pair books a competitive Playtomic match. Complete it before Sunday at 17:00.
Report the score
Send the result to Play Padel. The ladder is updated immediately after confirmation.
Challenge limits & priority +
- Each team may receive one compulsory challenge per week and may voluntarily accept more after completing it.
- Challenges are accepted first come, first play. A team can only be involved in one active challenge at a time.
- A team may issue another challenge after completing its previous one, up to two challenges per week.
- The same team cannot be challenged more than once in a week.
Scheduling, cancellations & weather +
- The challenged team must respond within 24 hours and provide availability within the Monday-to-Sunday window.
- If they cannot provide a playable time, they forfeit the match and their position.
- A cancellation within 24 hours without exceptional circumstances results in a forfeit.
- If rain prevents play, a club official decides whether the court is safe; the ladder remains unchanged.
Movement, partners & inactivity +
- The winner takes the higher of the two ladder positions and the losing pair takes the lower position.
- If an injured player cannot continue, the remaining player must find a new partner and re-enter the ladder afresh, with one free challenge to any position.
- Two consecutive inactive weeks without notifying organisers results in dropping one place.
Fair play & organiser rulings +
- The ladder exists to encourage regular, competitive play against new opponents.
- Attempts to manipulate rules, delay matches unnecessarily or gain an unfair advantage may result in an organiser ruling.
- League organisers have final authority over disputes and exceptional circumstances.
